This course bundle provides students with an opportunity to extend their literacy, communication, collaboration, and analytical skills for continued success in academic and daily life. In a natural combination of dramatic arts and literacy, the course will use the creative and collaborative processes to build on strategies for success in both subject areas. Students will explore a variety of genres, cultural material, media, and dramatic forms and conventions in authentic contexts. Students will regularly engage in reflection on their growth and experiences.
Prerequisite: ENG 1P1, ENG 1D1
The Story of History, Grade 10 English and History
ENG2PK / ENG2DK & CHC2PK / CHC2DK
This Grade 10 Program blends English and History in a project and inquiry based learning environment. Learners in the applied and academic streams will collaborate on projects that focus on real world issues with real world outcomes. The program focus will be on establishing essential questions and through the exploration of both history and literature, create opportunities for critical thinking and problem solving. Through the integration of historical texts and a variety of modern literary mediums, students will have the chance to look at how problems from the past can help illuminate solutions in the future.

Semester 2 – AWO3MK | ENG3CK / ENG3UK
During the Grade 11 Foundation year, students will rotate through 8 Studios for a half day, each day, over the course of the entire year. This package of 4 credits also provides opportunity for students to gain an English (ENG3C or ENG3U) credit by focusing on reading and writing for the Arts. Studio disciplines include: Photography, Ceramics, Sculpture, Painting, Printmaking, Drawing and Concept Design.
Pre-requisites: ENG2P1, ENG2D1, and AWD1O1, AWD2O1 or AVI1O1, AVI2O1 plus portfolio review.

Changing the World: Grade 11 Biology - University/College Preparation
Courses: SBI3CK & SNC4MK
Upon successful completion of this program students will earn SBI3C and SNC4M credits. This course focuses on the processes involved in biological systems and their impact on society. The areas of study will include; cellular biology, microbiology, anatomy and physiology. Students will apply the biological content to environmental issues, medical technologies, nutritional science, public health issues and biotechnology. Students will have the opportunity to express their understanding and opinions in a variety of creative methods.
Prerequisite: SNC2P1 or SNC2D1
Physimatics: Grade 11 University Preparation
Courses: SPH3UK & MCR3UK
This program will blend grade 11 University Functions and grade 11 University Physics. Physimatics will focus on connecting both math and physics to the real world; making learning relevant to you, the student. Students will get plenty of chances to apply that learning with hands-on projects in mechanics, electricity, magnetism, energy, and sound through a variety of collaborative projects. This program will help prepare you for post-secondary education and more importantly for a quickly changing world that requires you to innovate, collaborate, and adapt. Physimatics is for any student who is curious about how we use mathematics to understand the fundamental laws that govern the universe. We will study the very big to the very small; the math is universal.

The Chemistry of Biology, Grade 12 University Preparation
Courses: SBI4UK & SCH4UK
This dual credit course will provide students with a deeper understanding of how the sciences of biology and chemistry overlap and interact. Students will be given project opportunities that will allow them to explore the connections between concepts especially in, but not limited to, the areas of biochemistry and organic chemistry. In addition, students will be prepared for the rigors of university sciences by learning about a variety of sub disciplines within both biology and chemistry, including genetics, homeostasis, equilibrium, and thermodynamics.
